Twizzler

You may recognize Twizzler from his 15 seconds of fame on a news story about saving shelter animals – that’s right, this is the lovebug who rested his chin on the reporter’s knee during the segment! He was saved, he’s healthy and he’s ready to be loved by his forever family!

 

Meet Twizzler — a 2.5-year-old, 55-pound sweetheart who’s making the most of his second chance after being rescued from a euthanasia list. Now thriving in foster care, Twizzler lives happily with two kids (11 & 12), two cats, and a larger dog, and he’s proven himself to be a loving, loyal companion.

Twizzler is crate trained, walks beautifully on leash, and takes treats with the gentlest manners. His favorite thing, though? Being close to his people. This affectionate boy is a world-class snuggler with absolutely no concept of personal space — if you sit down, expect Twizzler to join you immediately.

He’s playful, goofy, and full of personality. When he gets excited, he can play hard and get a little mouthy, so he’d do best with a dog friend who enjoys active play and understands his style. Twizzler also appreciates slow, respectful introductions to new dogs, since he’s not a fan of dogs rushing into his space.

Twizzler could fit beautifully into many homes, especially one with a friendly canine companion and dog-savvy cats. Most of all, he’s looking for someone who wants a constant companion — a cuddly, affectionate best friend who will stick by your side through everything.
